Glowing Skin In Time For Summer With The Beauty Of Anti Wrinkle Injections For People Near Stillorgan

The nights are drawing out and the temperatures are finally creeping up, which means only one thing: Summer is here! What better way to celebrate the summer than treating yourself to a course of Anti wrinkle injections?

About Anti wrinkle injections

Anti wrinkle injections are a very popular anti-ageing treatment; it tackles common problems, such as lines and wrinkles, and gives you a fresh, smooth and glowing complexion. The great thing about Anti wrinkle injections are that it is a reversible and temporary treatment; you don’t have to commit to long-term treatment or go under the knife and the results are really impressive.

Anti wrinkle injection is injected into the skin to smooth the skin and prevent more wrinkles from forming; it does this by restricting the contraction of the facial muscles. The aim of Anti wrinkle injections are to give a more youthful look, while maintaining a natural aesthetic.

Why would I consider having Anti wrinkle injections?

Have you noticed wrinkles and lines when you look in the mirror? Do you dread having photographs taken or spend hours poring over them identifying age spots? Or are you simply looking for a way of looking a little younger and brighter? Anti wrinkle injections are a non-invasive treatment, which produces amazing results without any pain.

The treatment process for Anti wrinkle injection is very simple; before treatment, we will discuss how the treatment works and explain what happens and talk to you about which areas you want to tackle. We will then inject the Anti wrinkle injection into your face using a fine needle. Treatment takes around 20-40 minutes depending on how many areas are being treated. After treatment there may be very mild swelling, but this will soon die down and you can get straight back to your normal daily routine. Invisible Aligners: Invisible Tooth Straightening For Patients Near Stillorgan

The thought of wearing braces has been a daunting prospect for many people over the years. Having a mouth full of unsightly metal isn’t something that is embraced by the masses, and the stigma of wearing so-called “train track” braces has been around for as long as most people can remember.

However, with invisible aligners the stigmas of the past have now been banished, as invisible aligners are invisible to those around you. So no matter what your age you could achieve that perfectly straight smile you’ve always wanted, without the worry of having a mouth filled with metal.

Boost your confidence

Invisible aligners can help to boost your confidence and achieve straighter teeth. Invisible aligners treatment consists of a variety of aligners that will be changed during two-week intervals. The reason for this is because the aligners will slowly move your teeth into their correct position; your teeth will constantly change position resulting in the need for more than one aligner. The number of aligners that will be required during the treatment varies from patient to patient depending on the treatment needed.

Removable braces

Invisible aligners are also removable, which makes it much easier to eat, drink, maintain a good oral hygiene routine and keep your aligners in perfect condition. However, to get the best results in the quickest amount of time it is advised that the aligners are worn for a minimum of 22 hours per day, and only removed if required.

So if you want straighter teeth and a metal brace isn’t your cup of tea, then why not contact Dublin18 Dental Care near Stillorgan and learn more about invisible aligners to see what we can do for you.

The Advantages Of Clearstep Braces For Patients Near Stillorgan

The 18th century German writer and philosopher Novalis once wrote that: “We are more closely connected to the invisible than to the visible.” Little did he know that this concept would be most clearly executed in the Clearstep brace!

What is Clearstep and why would I use it?

Perhaps referencing old poets doesn’t quite provided the clarity we hoped for! Treatment with Clearstep involves a series of clear plastic positioners which gradually move your teeth into your desired position for them! The reason people might choose over other forms of treatment is that they are practically invisible! Sadly, traditional metal braces carry with them an unfortunate stigma; perhaps it comes from adolescence, or maybe all those teen comedies in the 80’s, but the rolling pin that is ‘contemporary culture’ has deemed traditional braces ‘not all that attractive’. You could spend months debating how unfair this is. This does not mean, however, that you necessarily want to wear them yourself and, sadly, by the time cultural conceptions of beauty change, it might be a little too late to correct your bite! If you want discreet brace treatment, Clearstep is here for you.

Advantages go beyond aesthetics

Positioners, invisible or otherwise, do have quite a few advantages over their wired counterparts. Most of these stem from their ability to be removed. The difficulty of maintaining oral a high standard of oral hygiene whilst using traditional braces is well documented. Thankfully, with Clearstep, you can briefly remove your aligner whilst your brush and floss! You can also take them out when eating to help keep your aligner clean and prevent them being damaged. Clearstep positioners are not weak though! In fact, if you grind your teeth at night, Clearstep even offers you the same protection that a mouth guard will! You simply need to wear it whilst you sleep. You also avoid the ulcers that can come as result of traditional braces.

Typical treatment

Following a few examinations, your positioners will be produced in a lab. Once they arrive, you will wear a positioner for about two weeks. Each new positioner you wear will move your teeth closer to your desired tooth position. Treatment often lasts between 9 and 18 months, a similar time normal brace treatment. Contact the team at Dublin18 Dental Care near Stillorgan for more information and to arrange a consultation.

Patients Near Stillorgan Can Protect Weak Teeth With Dental Crowns

Overtime, through wear and ageing, teeth, just like our bones, may begin to weaken. Weakening teeth is a common problem faced by many people and one that can be addressed and treated. The most popular way to treat a weakened tooth is to affix a crown over it.

A protective barrier

Crowns form a protective barrier over teeth that aim to protect damaged, cracked teeth which have simply broken over time. Crowns are able to shield teeth from food and bacteria which can lead to decay. Crowns tend to be custom made using precision and skill to ensure comfort and lasting stability.

At Dublin18, we use a variety of crowns. By having options available, we are able to pair our patients with the perfect crown for their needs. One of our most skilful and impressive crowns are the Cerec crown, here’s a bit more information about it:

Cerec crowns

These crowns are miraculous and perfect for busy patients without time to commit to multiple trips to the dentist; they are fitted in just one visit! Dublin18 Dental Care near Stillorgan is proud to put itself forth as a leader in Cerec crown technology: there are only 15 other practices in the whole of Ireland with Cerec digital computerised technology.

With Cerec crown technology, we are can restore decayed and damaged teeth, fit crowns or take out amalgam filling in only one appointment. Here’s what happens: using a camera, we take a digital picture of the tooth in question. Then, we use the photo, instead of old-style impression trays, to perform our work. By using the photograph, you are alleviated from the discomfort often felt when waiting for impression material to set.

Next, the computer and the 3D Cerec software work diligently to convert the digital picture to a 3D virtual model of the tooth, where we can design the restoration in front of patient’s eyes. After polishing the tooth, we then bond it into the mouth. No temporary fittings, no uncomfortable impression trays, no prolonged waiting—just stunning results, fast!

No More Bad Breath For Patients Near Stillorgan

Bad breath (halitosis) is a very common problem; most people experience bad breath from time to time when they have eaten spicy or strong food or drank coffee or tea, but for some people, bad breath is persistent and this can cause problems with confidence and embarrassment, especially in social situations.

What causes bad breath?

The most common cause of bad breath is bacteria feeding on the food you have eaten. When they feed, bacteria release unpleasant smelling odours, which cause the breath to smell. Many people tend to experience bad breath when they eat certain foods or drink certain drinks but bad breath can also be a sign of underlying health problems, including gum disease and decay. It is always worth seeing your dentist if you suffer from bad breath, especially if it occurs on a regular basis.

What treatments are available?

One of the most effective solutions for bad breath is a good daily oral hygiene routine, which includes brushing the teeth twice a day for two minutes each time, flossing and rinsing using mouthwash. Regular dental visits are also essential for good oral health.

Visiting a dental hygienist can also make a massive difference; hygienists are able to achieve a much more intensive clean that brushing at home and this helps to destroy bacteria and leave the mouth feeling and smelling fresh.

If you find that you get bad breath after eating or drinking, chewing sugar-free gum can help to keep bad breath at bay. If you would like to see a hygienist please contact Dublin18 Dental Care near Stillorgan for more information.

The Importance Of Fissure Sealants For Children In Stillorgan

When it comes to children it is sometimes hard to keep a trace on what they are eating or how well they clean their own teeth, but there is a way to protect your children’s teeth from the issues of tooth decay that could arise from such issues.

Looking after your children’s teeth

The best way to ensure that your children’s teeth aren’t affect is through the use of fissure sealants, which is a white fluoride enriched coating that is applied to the biting surface on the back of the teeth. These are recommended for children, as the surfaces located on the backs of the teeth are not smooth and flat, but instead are crisscrossed with small pits and fissures. If these aren’t protected then deep occlusal fissures can occur, which means food remnants can get lodged within the backs of the teeth and can’t be addressed by the use of a toothbrush. This then causes bacteria to multiply and produce acid, which then attack your children’s teeth resulting in issues such as cavities and tooth decay.

Sealants for children

However the fissure sealants can prevent issues like this happening as the top surfaces on the backs of the teeth are sealed off with a special varnish, which can reduce the risk of decay by six times compared to teeth without fissure sealants.

To ensure the sealants work the dentist will first render the backs of the teeth completely dry so that the thin composite material can be applied and then hardened with a special UV lamp, thus rendering the teeth protected.

It is wise to have the fissure sealant administered on your children’s teeth around 15-18 months after the teeth erupt in the oral cavity, and should then be checked at least twice a year and usually changed one every four years. Contact Dublin18 Dental Care near Stillorgan for more information.

Patients Near Stillorgan Find Out How Dental Implants Help Denture Wearers

Dentures are removable replacements for your teeth which can, nowadays, almost be indistinguishable from legitimate pearly whites. Originating in 700BC, Dentures are one of the oldest solutions to the problem of tooth loss. The oldest problem, however, faced by denture wearers is that of slippage. Dentures are a very affordable form of tooth replacement, but they can move about whilst eating and speaking. Some people may also be required to use denture adhesives which can be messy and tend to trap food particles which, if any natural teeth remain, can lead to further decay. There are, however, alternatives to this slippy, messy fate.

Dental implant stabilisers

One way of bypassing the slippage issue is to get dental implants, as these will hold the dentures in places. In this procedure, small titanium screws with ball-tops are inserted into the jaw. Most people will require six screws to be implanted, as this ensures optimum stabilisation. The screws will fuse with the jaw and, once your jaw has healed, your dentures will be altered so they can snap onto the ball tops. By applying upward pressure to the front of the denture, via your thumb, they can be easily removed for cleaning and such like. The process of implanting the screws should take roughly an hour, but can sometimes take longer. You may experience some minor discomfort after the implants, but this tends to be minor and can simply be eased with medication.

Other advantages

When worn without implant stabilisers, dentures will compress the gingiva and reduce blood supply to the bone. This will, in turn, cause accelerated bone loss. Thankfully, dentures worn with implant stabilisers stimulant the bone and help prevent such bone loss. Stabilised implants will also make your dentures look, feel and function like natural teeth. They can also help overcome denture related speech issues and ‘denture palate’. This form of treatment also bypasses the need to grind down health teeth, which can be required for other procedures. These sorts of ‘immediate’ problems can range from trauma to teeth – such as having a tooth knocked out or chipped in an accident – to an abscess suddenly making itself known by causing extreme pain that simply cannot (and should not) just be covered up with painkillers.
