Dental Veneers For A Smile Transformation Near Foxrock Village

At Dublin18 we understand the importance of feeling confident when you smile and we aim to create beautiful, natural smiles using the latest and most effective dental treatments. One of our most popular cosmetic dental treatments is veneers.

If you’ve ever wished for a flawless smile or you hate looking in the mirror because you dislike your crooked or discoloured teeth, why not contact us today to find out about how veneers could transform your smile and boot your confidence?

What are veneers?

Veneers are very thin, tooth-shaped pieces of ceramic material, normally porcelain, that are placed over the top of the teeth to create a perfect new smile. The veneers are custom-made to ensure that they fit your teeth perfectly and you can choose from different shapes and shades to create your ideal smile; some people choose a natural look, while others prefer a more glamorous, celebrity-style smile.

Veneers are an ideal treatment for people who have:

  • chipped teeth
  • worn or uneven teeth
  • discoloured or stained teeth
  • small gaps between the teeth

The procedure

Veneer treatment is usually carried out in two sessions; during the first session, the teeth are prepared, which involves removing a very fine layer of the tooth tissue and then creating an impression using dental putty. The veneers are then custom-made to fit the mould. Once they are ready, the veneers can then be applied over the top of the natural teeth to produce a beautiful new smile.

Veneer treatments

At Dublin18 Dental Care near Foxrock Village we are proud to offer two of the world’s leading veneer treatments: Lumineers and Da Vinci veneers, both of which have been featured on famous American and British television makeover shows.

Lumineers are ultra-thin veneers, which are just 2mm thick; they have a natural looking glossy sheen and as they are so fine, only minimal tooth preparation is required.

Da Vinci veneers are made in California; they are very thin and have a very lifelike finish, which makes them a popular choice.

Fissure Sealants For School Children 6+ Near Blackrock

Fissure sealant treatment is recommended for children; this is a preventative treatment, which helps to reduce the risk of tooth decay.

What is fissure sealant treatment

Fissure sealant treatment is a preventative dental treatment, which involves placing a plastic coating over the top of the molar teeth to provide a barrier between bacteria and food debris and the biting surface of the tooth. On the surface of the tooth there are small channels, which are known as fissures, which tend to trap bacteria and bits of food. The sealant provides a seal over the top of these fissures, which prevents food and bacteria getting trapped; this helps to reduce the risk of cavities and gum disease.

What does treatment involve?

The procedure to apply fissure sealant is very simple and quick and it is not painful. It only takes a few minutes to seal a tooth. The tooth is cleaned thoroughly and then dried before the sealant is applied over the biting surface of the tooth; it is then hardened and dried using a special light.

How long does sealant last?

Sealant should last for several years, but it may become worn or damaged; if this is the case, treatment can be repeated.

How effective is fissure sealant treatment?

Studies show that fissure sealant treatment is extremely effective in children and can reduce rates of decay by up to 86 per cent.

If you would like to find out more about fissure sealant treatment or arrange an appointment for your child, contact us today near Blackrock!

Cerec- Crowns On The Day For Patients Near Bray

We pride ourselves on offering the last treatments to our client and we are delighted to be able to provide crowns in a day, thanks to the amazing Cerec technology.

What is Cerec?

Cerec digital technology allows us to offer same-day bespoke restorative treatment; this means that you can get custom-designed crowns, inlays and onlays in one day, rather than having to wait for your new restoration to be made in a laboratory. With Cerec, we can do all the designing and manufacturing on-site, so there is no need for temporary restorations and waiting around for 2 weeks.

What are the benefits of Cerec?

Cerec has many benefits for patients and dentists. The treatment process is very quick and we can design, manufacture and place the new restoration all on the same day. This process usually involves at least two appointments, which are usually 2 weeks apart. Less time in the dental chair and fewer appointments mean fewer injections, which is welcome news for most dental patients, especially those who suffer from dental anxiety and those with a phobia of needles.

Cerec also allows dentists and patients to get more involved in the design process, which contributes to a truly bespoke service. The process is also more accurate.

Why would I need a crown?

Crowns are restorations, which are used to make the teeth stronger; they are usually recommended when the tooth has been weakened as a result of decay, a large cavity or injury. It is also common for a new crown to be placed following root canal treatment and dental implant treatment. For more help and information on Cerec technology contact the team at Dublin18 Dental Care near Bray

This amazing fixed brace system straightens the teeth in half the time of other treatments and it has a host of additional benefits for patients of all ages who have minor orthodontic issues.

About 6 Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles is a fixed brace treatment, which uses discreet wires and brackets to gently move the teeth. Treatment time, as you would expert from the name, is often six months, making it much quicker than many other braces on the market. These braces work faster than other treatments because they focus on the social 6, the teeth that are visible when you smile. They also use innovative technology, including self-ligating wires, to increase the speed of movement without compromising on comfort.

Who can benefit from 6 Month Smiles?

This treatment is an ideal option for patients who have minor to moderate issues, which affect the front teeth. It is not suitable for patients who have issues with their back teeth or severe problems with their bite. However, if you are looking for treatment and 6 Month Smiles is not a viable option, we will happily discuss other treatments with you.

Denture Repairs At Dublin18 Dental Care Near Monkstown

Dentures have a bad write-up because they are usually featured in films sitting in a glass next to an old person in bed; however, the reality is that modern dentures are a really impressive piece of dental kit and they can make a massive difference to your quality of life. Dentures are not just for older people; they can be used to treat much younger people and they have a range of benefits for your oral health and your general wellbeing.

At Dublin18 Dental Care near Monkstown we offer the finest modern dentures and a full repair service to ensure that your dentures are in good condition and make sure that you are comfortable and pain-free.

Denture repairs

Dentures are durable and hard-wearing, but they can be damaged; if you bite down on something very hard, you are involved in an accident or you drop your denture by mistake, the denture may break.

Over the course of time, you may also find that your denture starts to feel a little loose; this is because the shape of the mouth is constantly changing. Loose dentures are problematic because they may slip when you are eating and they can irritate the gums, creating sore spots, which can be painful, especially when you eat.

If you have problems with your denture, we are happy to help and can repair or replace broken or ill-fitting dentures.

We advise all our patients to attend regular checks; when you visit the practice we will check the condition of your denture and the fit and address any problems.

Bonded Retainers For Patients Near Seapoint

When you have your braces taken off, the last thing you want to do is experience relapse. Relapse occurs when the teeth start to slip and move out of position. This is why we encourage all our orthodontic patients to wear a retainer. A retainer is a dental device, which is used to hold the teeth in place and keep your amazing new smile intact.

What is a bonded retainer?

A bonded retainer is a retainer, which is stuck to the teeth using strong dental adhesive; it remains in place to maintain the new position of the teeth and prevent tooth movement. Just like when you have braces, it is important to keep the retainer clean to prevent plaque build-up and decay; it is very easy to keep your retainer clean and we will happily show you how to do this and give you advice about keeping your retainer clean.

We advise all patients to maintain a good oral hygiene routine at home and it is particularly important for patients who have braces or retainers to keep their mouths clean and follow advice about healthy eating; try to avoid eating sugary and chewy foods, which increase the risk of decay and may cause problems getting stuck in your retainer.

What are the advantages of a bonded retainer?

A bonded retainer is advantageous because it stays in place and therefore it is guaranteed to do its job; if you have a removable retainer, you may be tempted to take it out now and again and this may result in your teeth moving out of position. Once the retainer is in place you don’t have to worry about it and it is very simple to keep it clean. For more information about our bonded retainers get in touch with the team near Seapoint.
