Dental hygiene sessions are an excellent way of keeping your teeth in tip top shape and reducing the risk of oral diseases. Our dedicated team of hygienists is here throughout the week, including early morning and late evenings up until 8pm to offer you flexible treatment times and a range of great services.
What happens when you see a hygienist?
Many patients are advised to see a hygienist because they have existing oral health problems, but you can also benefit from regular sessions if you have good oral health. If you have signs of gum disease, your dental hygienist will work with your dentist to bring the symptoms under control and help to reduce the risk of further problems. Intensive cleaning treatments are used to remove plaque and tartar from the gum line to prevent the spread of infection and they can also be used to polish the teeth and make your smile look glossy and healthy.
When you see a dental hygienist, the full session will be dedicated to teeth cleaning and this will involve a thorough cleaning of each individual tooth and the gum line. The aim of treatment is to rid your mouth from harmful bacteria and enable you to enjoy good oral health without any worries, such as tooth pain, abscesses, bleeding gums or staining.
Benefits of oral hygiene treatment
As well as removing harmful bacteria from the mouth, dental hygiene treatments also have benefits for your overall health and wellbeing. Gum disease has been linked to an increased risk of general health problems and poor oral health can also contribute to decreased self-esteem and low confidence levels. After a session with our amazing dental hygienists your mouth will feel lovely and fresh and your teeth will be shiny and sparkly.
